For the meeting of February 11, 1999
Not much happening these days. Here are a few of the topics discussed at the last meeting.
Highway Clean up
The Humboldt Surfriders already have adopted a 2-mile stretch of highway along highway 101
just north of Trinidad. We just held a highway clean up a couple of weeks ago and
are thinking about a beach clean up soon.
Stenciling Project
We just received a bunch of reports by engineerings students at Humboldt State University
on how we can improve/implement our stenciling program. The focus of the reports
were on Blue Lake, a good starting place. The reports are available for reading here. We are currently working on compiling the information from
these reports into one comprehensive report.
Spring Benefit
We are planning to hold a spring benefit, tentatively scheduled for April 10th. We
are planning on holding a tribute to Doc Ball, one of surfings greatest legends.
He's in his 90's these days and we'd like to celebrate his efforts to make the
ocean a wonderful place to be.
